FAST CHARGING TECHNOLOGY

Almost all modern mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets support fast charging technology. The most popular of these are PD and Q.C. In short, this technology allows you to charge the battery with higher voltage using a standard USB cable.

A dedicated battery management system communicates with the charger, can define its capabilities and adapt to them. Higher voltage allows you to charge with lower current while maintaining the same power. For example, at a voltage of 5 V and an intensity of 3 A, we get 18 W of power, at a voltage of 9 V and an intensity of 2 A, this power will also be 18 W. Similarly, at a voltage of 12 V and an intensity of 1.5 A.

If we get the same power with every voltage, what's the point of all this? Be aware of the limitations on both the cable and the battery side. The higher the amperage, the more difficult it is for the thin wires of the cable, its plugs, and the battery management system. For example, although the charger can provide 3A of current at 5V, the cable and battery management in the phone will usually not accept more than 2A, which will ultimately translate into a power of 10W. However, if we increase the voltage, e.g. to 9 V, then with the same charging current we get 18 W, so we will charge the device almost twice as fast.

In the name of ecology, modern smartphones are increasingly delivered without chargers. CAUTION

The mains voltage in most countries using the A, B and I type socket standard differs from the European standard. The adapter does not convert the mains voltage from 230 V to 110 V. Devices not adapted to work in the range of AC 100-250 V may not work properly.
